Matteus Matteus thanks man.the damage to the house doesn’t really bother me as it was out in the utility room and that place needs redoing anyway but man I’m gutted about losing these fish they were coming on sooo nice.

That is really a shame. Amazing that a leak like this could just start and drain it in a day. Wow.
 
Devastated pal, must of leaked over night my misses noticed in the morning when the floor was soaking and only managed to save the fire eels as they were still alive in the damp sand.

I found that it was due to the support underneath bowing in the middle.

Matteus Matteus ye the tank was sitting on a wooden work top and over time must of starting sagging in the middle due to the weight if I had supported the middle with timber it would have fine. I never put a middle support in because I put a sump underneath and had easy access for maintenance.

That explains the rapid timing of the incident. I feel for you. Are you planning to re-start?
One of the most rewarding aspects I have found with the hobby is growing the fish from small to large. Watching them grow up and nurturing them.
