My kickass freak of nature

I bought this little firecracker for $7 at the LFS because he was a known mutt. I love this fish, and he's still just a wee lad. I was way too intrigued by the JD/texas cross. And it's been fun shortening his like into one word. Best I came up with is jaxas, or if you're feeling silly "jackass" works well.

Flash (look at those spangles sparkle)

No flash (little guy is hard to get a decent shot of with no-flash becuase HE RARELY STAYS STILL)

He does not stay so dark since my freddy's gone, which is amazing (makes his light tex colors show) but I've seen his fry-mates, and it seems I got the fish that shows the best of both species. He's only 3" now, but I can't wait to see how he grows up.

I couldn't agree more. Even though my photography skills suck (not as bad as other members') But I'm certainly curious as to what size this little ball of attitude will grow to.

I bought him quite recently at about 2.5" and as of now he's only 3", maybe a tad more SL.

After seeing your pics, I realized that my "texas" is actually a "jaxas". I got it from a local breeder, and I'm sure it was not intentional. It's a handsome thug of 8 inches now, but these pics were taken at 6 inches. I think it's a nice fishie... :naughty:
