Just a thought... a high temp could make them jumpy, and cause them to be more prone to vomiting as stress + over eating can lead to puking.

true...i think it was more from the over eatting then anything...also it had eatten a suction cup for one of my air stones in the tank....so it wasn't all bad and this was the first time they have vomited...i may lower the temp some to slow them down till i get everything squared away with my move and pond...the main reason i have had the temp so high was when they were little they got ich from a bad batch of feeders...so i raised the temp to cure it and never took it back down, more as a privenitive and thats when i noticed the growth and fast metobolic rate...

You would think now huh... :screwy:Dorks. Mine ate and regurgitated a glass thermometer. I never kept it in there, but put it in for a quick reading only to turn away so a split second and then it was gone. :WHOA::WHOA::WHOA::WHOA::WHOA: I was totally worried. The fish and I were fortunate it came back up in one piece after a few days. Lesson learned.

God I know.... I was freaking out, and didn't sleep well. I kept thinking, "Did I take it out? No.... They wouldn't even have had a chance to eat it... I know they could have. They're lightening fast. I know they ate it...." I then proceeded to curse myself knowing that if they died I would be miserable. A similar dialogue ran through my head every time I thought about it. I couldn't have been happier to see that thermometer bobbing around a few days later. Never did figure out who the culprit was.

good thing i took mine out then...lol...i just don't like how they try to eat the fx5 gard after they knock it off...they always get scraped noses and never figure out it is not food...i may have to try and zip tie it on to hopefully stop them...as the last time they did this my yellow bulhead got sucked in head first...it didn't make it i found it in the morning
