Shrimp causes many problems with the L200s, and will quickly dull their colors. One of the biggest problems, is the shell.

I feed shrimp that already have the shell removed. What other kinds of problems does it cause besides color loss?

What do you suggest I feed to improve color?

thanks :)

Interesting you've noticed colour loss...
Most species relish the shells. They are more of a complex protein though than they should necessarily have, although I'm not sure quite how negligible the effects are.

So to be on the safe side, unshelled is fine? What other types of foods would you offer this species? I want to keep it as varied as possible.

I haven't experienced color loss. But I'll wait to see what happens when they start eating more.

Color loss in L200s (both species) and L128 can take 2-4 months to show with shrimp. To keep their color vibrant, Spirulina based algae wafers are the best. The HBH veggie wafers are the highest concentration of this. Other problems I had were frequent digestive tract backups, slower growth, and higher parasitic problem occurrence.
