Hi vandecruz,

yes the guys are right, the single one is Channa kerala / umangii / sp. fife stripe.
And the others are Channa pulchra.

i had some fife stripes in my first channa days, they reach size comparable to gachua (22-25cm) and are mouthbrooders end eggfeeders.
They feel well in an unheated tank, and show more color when breeding.

The pulchras are gorgeous fish, I have forteen of them now.
There are several breedings of them in Germany and the UK.

By the way, the sp. Assam / blue you mentioned look like this:

wow thank alot Bruki for sharing with me,did u breed those cute Blue asam, they are so beautiful and so many of them, wish if i stay near u maybe can bring a net along hahaha:DBy the way yesterdy nite i try to temporary comm the 5 stripe with my bleheri and altought there is not much fighting except some flaring going on for a while but my bleheri start to act weird sia as one of my bleheri colour still very stable but tend to jump out from my tank into HOF quite a number of time lol, could it be due to the 5 stripe new channa i added in ,last time when only bleheri is inside by themselves, they hardly jump at all, anyway i will be taking out the 5 stripe today to a new tank:D but still hope to know what the reason to become a jumper

Hi,

its better to get the "stripeys" otta there, cause bleheri are more calm channas than the striped are.
The striped even grow bigger, and can be more aggressive.

And yes, the pictures show my homebreed sp. Assam, there are still 20 or 30 left, im trying to get several breeding pairs to help the genus channa to world domination ;-)

Yeap thank man, yesterday nite have catch the Stripe Baby out of the Rainbow Family (Really a Hard Time for me to catch him out espically in a tank with plant)and those Bleheri finally stop jumping and no more quarrel among themself,so happy to see tat they are so stable now and the 5 stripe is staying by its own now and i guess the 5 stripe can be really agressive when its come to hunt as i noticed but most of the time it will hide and stay on the bottom unlike my Pulchra and even my Bleheri swim out actively now with Glamour:DLastly bro if u Think u can have some spare Asam Blue for me,i will love to get 2 pairs from u,Dun worry if u can't ,i m just trying my luck cos in singapore i have confirmed that i cannot get any asam as LFS dun really bring in:DIf possible i would love some Orientalis too which they are rare in singapore too
