Please please don't take this to heart

I know lei are rare and everyone hunts for them but I just can't see the appeal

The jaw isn't at a nice angle
Barbels they don't look as if they have any
Rthe part of the body that connects to the tail just looks to long
Apart from the odd spot hear and there they don't seam to have hardly any colour

Well that's what I see no please tell me the good parts about them

Come on guys sell it to me

The blacks look stunning by the way

then you can't complain about broken barbells!

Just a quick video update of my arowanas. Watch in 1080p of course. The video quality to me is still not as good as I would like it. Anyone with a canon have any recommendations? I am using a 550D with the 55-250mm lens.

stunning fish! How big is the tank?

The tank is a 180 grow out. To me, I got the leichardti for all the reasons that T1 listed. It is pretty rare and expensive. Venders have them for sale at 500$ which to me is way to over priced. I got mine 3" for 250$ shipped. It is also the closest Arowana to the Asian Arowana since I am in the states. I actually really like the colors of the leichardti. There aren't that many pictures of Leichardti under normal lighting that has clear pictures. I posted a close up of mine on page 2. I actually really like that the lei is white based. That's why I do not like Jardini's. They start of whiteish when small but turn bronze when they are large. Also jardini's have an attitude. My Lei have not touched my Blacks. When I got the lei it was with silvers of his size. The Silvers actually beat up the Lei. My lei is actually growing its barbells. Its all personal preference. I love the way my lei looks but I also see where T1 is coming from when he talks about the body and tail being too long.

I'm with you bro. Let's face it. We're all in the hobby to get the rarest out there, or atleast strive for it. Although some feel jars are a little nicer than leis, the fact that jars can't really be kept in a comm is deff a deal breaker. But to me, leis are really nice.

Not sure what leis you've seen, or if you're seen them in person, but they have at least one red spot on each scale. And my lei has a nice maroon to its fins. It's easy for you to not be too fond of leis for to their lack of color, you have asian aros lol. Leis are the rarest aro we can get, you need to understand that, and rarity makes them beautiful. Kinda like an average looking woman with a great personality, that makes her beautiful.

The price seams very high for what they are at $250-500 that's red tail gold money which takes into account micro chip import papers and taxes

I know you can't get Asian aros but that price seams a little high that's all

I have Seen very small lei side by side with a jar in the tank next to it and if I had to take one home it would have been the jar

The lei jaw seams to be at a funny angle compared to all other aros

I'd get any asian arowana at 250$ in a heart beat. But are there any large leichardti pictures under normal lighting not pink? I'd love to see what these guys look like as adults

I haven't updated this thread because I have been but i recently acquired a 300 gallon tank. The tank now has 3 black arowanas, 3 silver arowanas, and 1 leichardti. Also have three hystrix stingrays that will get updated in my stingray thread in my signature. These are just quick pictures i took on my canon. I didn't take the time to capture the lei's true beauty. The barbells are growing out now they are about 3/4 of a cm. Also there was some damage on most of the aros from moving them from one tank to another.
