So I walk into my LFS today like I do every tuesday to see whats new and the owner tells me he needs a word with me."We were raided by Fish and Game yesterday."
Holy moly! I knew the guy had a knack for getting hard to find fish but, holy moly! The shop is here in Northern Calif. and rhymes with "pooperway aquarium." The owner tells me a snitch was sent in to ask about piranha, which he usually has a few on hand. Upon showing the 2 specimens the signal was given and 2 uniformed game wardens or whatever their called came in, seized the fish and a snapping turtle too. A few phone numbers were confiscated, including my own and, he now awaits his day in court. A fine is normal from what I'm told.
Anyways, if you know the place and the owner try not to mention it to him as he seemed really distraut about it. He's been my LFS guy for 30+ years and is a real nice trustworthy type of person. When I asked him for a Siamese Tiger he had it the next day! Its just weird that I was just there last tuesday asking him if he'd ever had anything like that happen (from a thread I read here on MFK) and he told me the local police weren't the ones to worry about as they are some of his best customers. Geez, I hope he doesn't think I'm a snitch? Thanks for your time, now back to whatever you were doing...
