They had a breeding trio of firemouths that were about 5-6". I asked one of the workers how much they were and he said " $34.99" I said oh sweet for all of them" ( which I still thought was pretty high) and he said " No, $34.99 a piece" I was like WTF you sell the 2" ones for $4 each lol the worker agreed with me that it was an absurd price, but what can ya do...

They want $90 for the breeding pair of Severums I basically gave them.

I've seen bigger Firemouths for four bucks but I guess times are hard..So,did you purchase the trio?
 
Adult firemouths at my lfs go for like $8 lol
 
With these prices I'll be rich with my spawn of 100+ fry :D

I know I'm goin to try and talk them down on the price cause they are very nice firemouths, but, $34.99 is absurd! I would pay $29.99 for all 3 lol

I sold a big Oscar to my LFS for $20 I went in the day after and they had $150 on it. Sombody took it a few weeks later then tryed to sell it on an online auction site for $100. Granted it was big, but fish grow if you look after them
 
Lfs takes almost every fish in but won't give you anything for em. Ex: 6" oscars they get em for free and then charge 39.98 for em. Most money I ever got for a trade in was a 20 gallon tanks worth of java moss for 5$, and that was because I knew the guy that worked there at the time. He said anyone else wouldn't have given me anything for it, I was like its more then what you get in WEEKLY from your supplier!
