newbie question, what is the objective of 18000K lights in a non marine (read reef) aquarium application? is not enough 5500-7000K?

the different kelvin rating provides different color spectrums of light. what you use is a personal preferance for the most part.

No reflectors behind the bulbs?Wasting so much light into that dark wood......oh well,you are the master.....

He could always go with white gloss....works for me and reflects great!

thanks Welsher7, I knew about the different spectrum but I thought there was a technical reason besides looks (which is a valid reason anyway).
