get a shop light from home depot/lowes they are cheap

this. i picked up a cheapy (10$) fixture from wal-mart. houses 2 four foot 40watt bulbs. i even picked the lights up from there also, 6 bucks for two 6500k t8 bulbs.

works well.

i'm still drying them to make sure the one doesn't work. i actually think its the bulb. i think it went out. I have learned my lesson..... twice! LOL

The problem with eletronics and water is when they are turned on under water it shorts them out but if they are completly dry before turning them on they should be fine. Hey if it works for touch screen phones it should work for light.

Shop light fixtures don't disperse the light in an aquarium as well as his fixtures will. However, he could buy these shop lights and very easily swap out the ballasts to his aquarium fixtures if need be.

I dropped my lights in the turtles tank probably 5 times. I know twice it was 100% under. I never unplugged them, I just pissed and groaned reached in the water grabbed them and put them back on the tank and let them drip the water back into the tank:nilly:
