Well whatever. I never update in the media section over on the "dark side" and everyone seems to get along just fine with it.

soon you'll get a list of pm's stating your thread has been moved to the media section. the salt section is different though in the fact that i has a main media section, and not like here. we don't have an ancient media sub section just the individual sections corresponding media lounge.

you can't claim it as the "dark side" when you have never been anywere else. how can your "small, weak and herbivorous" fish to be dark? take a look were you are.........the Ancient fish section. here we have fish with teeth, that get massive and can in most of my fish likings cause a bloody mess of a hand or limb. i like salt, but if i do get into it again i will have things like black tip sharks, dragon moray or some stingrays. you know thing that fit the profile i have. snails, cardinals, dwarf angels and damsels don't fit the "dark" profile. one day you will realise there is only one true dark side to fish keeping.....till then best of luck to you over there in the bright light....

I'm not the first to refer to it as "the dark side." So settle down. lol, I was just repeating what some of the others have said when they come asking for help starting their first salt tank after years of fresh. I do, however, understand where you're coming from. If I, personally, were to refer to anything as "the dark side," it would most likely be the monster toothy fish you refer to. I think salt is (or was in the cases I saw) so called because it is so different than keeping freshwater fish. I think people feel like they are betraying something (or someone) when they start to explore the salty side, hence the parroted reference.

Oh, and for the record, We did have a 30 gal with goldfish when I was in high school. Oh yeah. :headbang2How's that for never being anywhere else?? :p

when you were in high school i had goldfish in my piranhas belly.....thats what i have to say to that and your "anywere else"....
