Let him keep it.My son asked for a purple mohawk when he was 10,was so surprised when I said sure why not he put it off for a year.Turns out he liked the bleach before the dye better so since the dye wore off he kept the blonde.

I'm big on telling my kids to be theirselves and to not do what everyone else is doing just b/c it's the "cool" thing to do. If my boy thinks that the hawk expresses him then I say let him keep it. Plus my daughter wanted her hair dyed red about a month ago. I went to the store and got it. Then I dyed it for her myself. If she can have red hair then it's only fair that he gets the haircut he wants.
Studies have statistically shown that a haircut like that will result in wearing hemp, foregoing deoderant, and using marijuana. Depends on your family values I guess. On the other hand, if your wife controls all family decisions, you might want to turn to drugs too. 
lol. She doesn't control all family decisions. She just controls how often I get laid. So now I have to ask myself if I'm willing to go without for a few nights for my boy. haha.
