my little 40 gallons project

here is the story, I have a small recessed space in my bathroom wall, which is so far havent been used for anything. Well I though it could be cool to have a small tank in it. Then I did the measurement and as I calculated It gave me roughly 40 gall tank which could be set up it. The dimension is 55x55x50 cm.




Back in my garage, I have some spare 8mm glass from my previous projects.





Then I begun cutting the glass, well, I did not cut it, I sent it to a workshop nearby to get it done for me.
Back home I started the assembly, using a DOw Corning glass silicone sealent.

and the day has gone dark, but I've got the last piece installed





So I leave it over night for the glue to dry, then the next morning..

I decided to put some top bracing over..







so there it is the finish product.

I going to do the leak test soon. Will will updates some more later.

thanks, lol, it was a quick little work, wasnt so bad,
I did the leak test, and there wasnt any water dripping so its good.



I then use a black background and a black bottom.
The tank is ready and perfectly fit into the space, I fill it with water and will leave it over night. The next thing is to get some lighting on top of the tank.

thanks, very good question, and I havent really though about it badly, so far the only option is to get bichirs, but only senegals and albino type, because the dont grow that big, but even so, I will probably get 1 or 2 sen; I also have a 120 gall tank for just in case.
Today is Saturday, and its when the lfs here open, so I am gonna start hunting real soon.
Anyway the small tank is open for suggestions still,..

hmm, I am not a big fan of cichlids, I've just bought 2 longfinned albinos senegals, they are still very small, only about 3" each, and they dont grow that big, so I supposed they would be a perfect home owner for the tank for a very long time.

I am using a small submersible filter, it has 900L/h flow, considering my tank is only 40 galls which is roughly 150 liters,
it looks like this





and I will replace that yellow sponge things with my favorite white sponge which looks like this



So far it keeps my others tank crystal clear for a long time,
