Can't wait to see what you stock it with! Bichirs aren't my favorite, but if you like them, you should definitely go with them. Get some pics up when you get the fish!

thanks, I still need to install some lights on top of the tank, apparently it was not on my budget:screwy:, here some experiment with flash light...

yeah I know its not finish yet, but I'm getting there, just wanna find an appropriate light first. But the good thing, the tank is ready for my two longfinned albinos sens, I'll updates more pics later,
not bad for a little project...
cheers

Sounds good
just wanted to let you know that exodon's are not cichlids. They are a very very active predatory characin. They grow to 3-4" max length and are a shoaling fish. They love and or need to be stocked heavily.

here is a nice vid of a members tank on here. This is also a 40g tank.

Really, ive dropped mine a couple of times and its been in the drink once still works!!!!

lol, some of the bottom on my phone cant be used, I could go and send it to be fixed in a shop, but I bought a new one.:D

so far I only use camera from my phone, that's why those pics looks crap, I need to buy a new camera. But I have no budget yet:(

exodons are cool, but they're so pricey! at least for me :/ Maybe if they were like $2 each I'd get them, but $15 each?! and they need to be in a colony (not just a pair/ not just a trio/ not even a herd -5- ) but a colony (10+)! That adds up. Stick with the bichirs w/ a heavy lid and if you ever happen to stumble upon a fish farm that breeds exo's take some from him and then hook me up =)

kinda low, build a stand so it can be eye level.
your fish will be happy, they can stare at your woman, when she in the shower

lol, thanks, no worries, but where are U located? I live in indo, and I've never noticed them being sold in the lfs before, maybe I should start looking. Having exodons is my future plans now:D.

yeah its a bit low, I am thinking to make a stand under it, but its not within the budget:(, But considering the tank is in the bathroom, I guess I better think it well for materials to used. Some acrylics cabinets maybe??mmmm it costs alot.
MMMmm bichirs dont have a good eye, they use their smell though, lol.

You say you're not a cichlid man, but with that size I can think of two perfect fish.. Electric Blue Rams, or any type of Victorian Shelly (little goby looking fish that cruise in and out of cool looking Shells. Both would make you a profit if bred, and fund some future projects.
