I got no idea why the fish is so dull in colour. Could it be because my tank is all black all side including the base except the front glass? I believe so.

Nah, it is not the black background. My paimas had two glass sides and they were coloring up from drab to some coloration - notice the red bits on the scale and colorful tail and back fin ...before they all died of cold this winter =(

yea my silver is 15" it has slight PLJ only,it has perfect eye,barbels

Could it be because of the fish genes? Anyway, they are monsters.
