Thank you. Honestly, the only reason I got it was it was only 5 bucks. But that's the only fish besides a small Salvini (it's like 3 times the size of the Festae) that I've bought in the last few months. Which I said I wasn't BUYING anymore... but 4 bucks for a Salvini and 5 for a Festae are too good a deals to pass up.

congrats,i was in the same boat about a year ago,you have a long road ahead of you, there not the fastest growers!!

LOL I'm aware of their slow growing nature. Not my first experience with a slow grower though. I have a 7-8" EBJD I've had since April 30th. When I got him he was 4"s. Plus a friend of mine has a female that he's had for a year and she's about as big as the EBJD. So hopefully in a year mines that big and wreaking havoc on a tank lol

I have never bought a fish that was already grown. I love watching them grow and raising them myself, to me that's one of the biggest joys of fishkeeping. Keep us posted with updates I'm looking foward to watching it progress. Good Luck and congrats on getting your Festae!

Thank you, I enjoy watching them grow as well. You become attached to them that way and also get satisfaction knowing you raise them. The only fish of mine that I bought larger was my EBJD. My BGJDs, Convict hybrids (grew these from eggs) and even my pleco's have all been babies.

Great pick up !!

It is a great thing to grow fish from fry size but RT growth rate isnt the fastest.

There's a couple of these in my LFS i might buy a few when i get the 260Gal going :D
well like two or something

Which is why I won't get rid of my Dempsey's. I've grown my blue gene Dempsey's from fry size. That's alright that they grow slow for a few reasons, biggest one is it gives me time to get another big tank lol.

I wouldn't wait, they don't seem to come around too often. It's taken me since October to track down 1.
