Sweet animal

I tried starting my first ever saltwater tank for one awhile back but all the fishes I used to cycle tank died within a few weeks so I drop the project. One I'll try again, lfs here has at least three different species of mantis shrimp.

Your best bet is to get somelive rock and dump 10 - 20 live shrimp in there and let it cycle for a good few weeks and use a test kit to ensure the ammonia and nitrite are 0 before introducing anything.

hello everyone,
i am new here and i realize that i should be doing this in my own thead but u cant seem to figure out how to make my own thread(any help?) but seeing as how you are all mantis lovers i thought i would ask. does ANYONE know of any place that is selling a spearing type mantis? bigger obviously better but any spearer would be fine. i would prefer local to bay area california if anyone lives around here with one but if i have to ship it thats fine to. if anyone has any information that can help please let me know. i have a 30 gallon tank that has literally been set up and cyling for about 7-8 months now just WAITING for a mantis to keep it company but alas, there are non to be found. please help if you can thansk

stomatopod love, it looks really good! they are very intelligent creatures. the peacocks are quite interactive, not sure about ciliata though.
