can you buy baby paddle fishes? i want one and how big do they really get i know they get big but how big is big?? i will house it in my 1300gallon pond.

Yes I have seen them for sale before.....BUT they get gigantic. I don't even think a 1300 gallon pond would hold one. BTW do you have any pics of that? That sounds really nice.

i will always remember seeing them at the future exibit at epcot. i would try jonahs aquarium online they sell alot of natives.

I'm fairly certain that Jonah's Aquarium will not stock these since they are impractical for a home aquarium. These guys do not just get huge, they are also filter feeders. This means having a steady supply of very small food particles. These fish are really much better suited to a large public aquarium where there health can be constantly monitored and their diet specifically tailored to them.

Actually they are more midwater-top fish then on the bottom.

in my case i would be even lucky to catch one my brother has caught aleast 3 of them in ohio they are illegal to have.(nuts...! just my luck, but i still want to own one, because it is a unsually beautiful monster fish. I am willing to dismantal my tank down to 2 feet high instead of four feet and make me a 12 by 12, my pond liner is a 15by 20. i know they eat alge and small fishes and fresh water plankton(they been reminding me of who they are just like basking sharks.) My Zoo has paddle fishes, about 3-4 of them about 23-27inches when i go to the zoo next time i'll post them. but for now i'll leave you guys with these....babies, enjoy! :WHOA: :D
