Had to use the flash because they were too quick.

Mahseers from India. There are atleast three different sp. that I could see in the bunch.

Looking good!! Thnx for the update, Ken

for some reason, most of em r resembling musullah to me. but we'll see eventually :)
* i don't exactly know if its true, but I have a thought that when we feed em so much that we see their stomachs everyday, they started growing really fast in terms of height and thickness while not gaining much length . I dont know if this should be a concern as it affects the fish's shape. obese masheer? bone structure not keeping up with growth?

They're looking great Ken.

I would agree with Vince a little on the tall body. I was feeding mine dailly and they were growing very fast, and all had tall bodies. Last week I was out of town and didn't feed them for a week, I can see that some are more slender than others. The tall bodied ones had goldish orange bottom fins, I may think they're tor mosal or mussulah type. The slender ones hoping they're tor putitora, and a few neolissochilus hexagonelepis of course in the mix

I do believe you and Vince are correct about the obesity. The guys outside looked fat in the tank but once outside they slimmed down due to more room and less over feeding. These growouts should be ready to go outside soon.
I remember the spinibarbus being tall when I first got them and now they're slender.
I have 2 neo. hex. and 1 tor putitora (hopefully more but some are still too small to tell). The majority are the orange finned ones. I'm kinda wondering if the 2 neo hex are tor tor because it doesn't have the orange eyes?? Just part of the fun in growing out fish.

Lookn great Ken! Cant wait to see some pics of all these in the pond. Are the bambusa still in the pond?

N. hexagonalepis is easy to pick out - of the growouts I received 2 quickly got large silver scales with 2 black lateral stripes on the caudal - but the others are difficult. At the size mine are at there is too much guesswork, as they all look morphologically similar, and the yellowish paired fins seem to be pretty common on juvie Tor. Behaviorally, N. hexagonalepis (IMO) are much "heartier" eaters and grow much faster than Tor sps. Yeah, "hearty" is relative :D; suffice to say the hexagonalepis/copper mahseer are more active, more aggressive at feeding time, and more inquisitive about possible food.
