Ok, pardon my ignorance here. You say his claspers are almost done rolling, do they unroll during mating and have to tighten up again? What do unrolled vs. rolled look like? You mentioned earlier how a recently used clasper looks like, what does it look like? I find this whole thing fascinating.

When a male starts out as a pup their claspers are small and as a male matures his claspers start getting bigger and begin to roll looking like a toquito lol

Yes the do un-roll a little when mating

When the deed was done the male had fresh scrapes on the skin of his clasper, looked very similar to a fresh scrape on a rays stinger

Thanks for the clarification. I have two males and they seem to be fully rolled, but I don't have anything to compare them too. And I've never seen them unrolled. I have seen it look slightly swollen or raw looking. Still learning, thank!
