I have a 4.5in one before but decided to separate him as he's too much of a bully though I'm still hoping that my new one would turn to be less temperamental. With regards to eyebiters, I also had one before but died due to bloat. Thanks, I do hope also that mine to be a really good boy towards his tankmates, but as of now the alpha male is showing signs of the attitude of yours.

good advice I have raised many pecocks up to sexual maturity only to find them dead sooner or later but the females are all thriving and breeding!? with my venustus cichlid or maby my male electirc blue allia's there are 4 big males and about 10 females. its a 120 btw.

Yeah, venustus and eb's tend to be really aggressive towards their tankmates especially during courting. You may want to separate them to a breeding tank so as to avoid further casualties.
