i have(had) 11 mixed cichlids and one small sydontis euriptus. the cichlids are about 1'' maybe. my water peramiters are fine. the ph however is 7.5. low??? all three fish that died were laying on the bottom gasping for air:(. they eventually died. i feed 2 per day plankton, krill, and spinrula flake. the water temp is 80*. what the hell is going on.
-note- this is my first african cichlid tank

pH shouldnt be the probelm.

Stocklist? If there are mbuna, the krill could have gave them Malawi Bloat and killed them.

Filtration? Tank size?

Yes, all of your fish are mbuna. You are feeding them too much protein. Which probably killed them.

You are WAY underfiltered. You should invext in 2 Penuin 350s or something similar.

ok. so what should i feeed them?? also i had a aquaclear 50 filter but the sand broke it:irked:

I feed mine this too. It is a good treat but should not be used as their whole diet.
