My Male Festae Progression Thread-From Egg to Today

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hey guys I have a Q... as I said before Im getting some juvies later today. will my 135 work to grow them together? I currently have my midas about 3 or 4 inches in there along with a small jag and a small severum (both just a couple inches).

If push comes to shove, the festae will have priority and may have to rehome my midas.

I plan on shuffling my tankmates eventually as my new worlds get larger. (new worlds going into the 240)

I have a breeding colony of tanz frontosa in my 240 (which I want to move to my 180 eventually)

move my oscars from the 180 to the 135 eventually as well.... so it will be a complete shuffle lol

anyway... will a 135 be large enough to grow them and if Im lucky to get a pair way down the road... can a 135 house a breeding pair?

thanks!

Sounds like you have some nice tanks. I think a 135g should be fine to grow them out in. If and when you get a pair, it should house them for quite a long time. I'm imagining my pair in a 135g and think they would fit ok...they're in a 156g now which is a foot shorter in length but six inches wider than a standard 135g. If my male gets up to 16"+, then I might have to rethink the matter.

Awesome fish! Definately my favorites on MFK. Great idea seeing the progression from fry to adults. Truly amazing what you've done with the female you rescued. Hoefully my festae will turn out half as nice as yours.

I always enjoy seeing your festae!

Amazing thread and your festae have always been top notch!!!

Thanx! You're very kind. :)

Thanks for your reply Balton.

No worries. You've been there for me too.
