I missed this one, nice group that should spread out the aggression!
 
I am trying to do the same thing. I have I believe 11 1.5-2" Red Devils from various shops and tangledupincichlids in a 5 1/2 gallon right now. Two of them are orange and are from petsmart... looks like one of them has a white round spot on his side, hoping he turns out piebald. The devils from Rapps are citrinellus 1.5 inchers. Got the rest at a lfs, some had no color and looked very similar to rapps fish, but they said they don't order fish from him. The other from the lfs are yellow with black markings, pretty ugly lol. Will soon be transferring them to a 20 gallon long, might need to buy a few more to keep them overcrowded. Should I just leave the tank bare sand bottom so nobody claims territory?
