"Fool! I thought you said your fish does not bite!"

"That is not my fish..." :)

A cool aspect of this fish is that rough "faceted" Klingon-forehead look on the kok; just looks old compared to the smooth rounded koks usually seen on these things.

Pics were taken shortly after a 90% water change, hence the appearance of his nuchal hump.
It acts similar to a mood ring. lol

Pics were taken with my iPad, so overall color is also off a bit.

Ahhh! Had no idea that was such a changeable characteristic!

But...90% water change? Are you mad??? You'll crash your tank...destroy your cycle...shock your fish...harden your silicone...kill your shrimp...melt your plants...damage the ozone layer...rip a hole in the fabric of time and space!!! :jaw-dropp

That's just crazy talk...

I think you forgot cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria.

As a longtime Citrinellus enthusiast this fish has beens favorite of mine to see and the one I show screenshots to a good friend who likes the species( who doesn't do social media) as and example of a top notch well kept purebred Midas cichlid.

I have bred my Ken Davis male to a Tangled up in cichlids female and now with less purebred Midas breeder ( TUIC, COTA gone) I feel fortunate that I have a few...i been running an experiment of keeping 4 males in a 210 that I have managed to have the coexist

I have one male that has emerged 2nd in command that is similar to your guy I know the way I am keeping them is risky but overall I hope to emulate the longevity you have achieved with yours.......
