that puffer is not a true freshwater species right? They are in fresh as juv's they go to the reef through the river system when adults.. just like the american species right?

Wouldnt recommend keeping them in fresh as adults. Just get a salt tank and put them in there, no biggy.

Do you have the proper name for that puffer? The name "Brazilian Aimara" does not show anything puffer related in google. Do you know the scientific name for this one?

That looks like a saltwater puffer. I had one just like that when I had salt! Much cooler when it's in FW
