My mom just told me we're puting my dog down tomorow

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When I lost my pet, I was also given the Rainbow bridge letter from my vet. Its very heartfelt.

That was just a few months ago.

R.I.P all of our little friends.

I don't know what to do right now I can't look at my dog without crying cause he has no idea what is going to happen tomorow. I'm scared I have never lost a pet that I have had this long. I feel guilty because the past few years I haven't payed that much attention to him like I used to when we were both younger. My dog used to pull me and my little sister in our sled when it snowed out. I even remember the day we got him I got so excited I hyperventilated. He's my doggy and I dont want to do this cause I feel like we are cutting his life short when he may have a year or two left, but he would just get worse.... I really am going to miss him :(

I'm sorry to hear that:( I have 2 dogs and I dread the day they will leave me.

I'm thinking about keeping his collar...........

i did that when my dog died, i actually carried it around in my pocket for a couple days afterward. loosing a pet sucks, no matter how you look at it but the important thing is to enjoy the time you have left, however short it may be. and after tomorrow just do your best to remember the good times you had with him

Losing a close friend like that is hard, I have had to deal with that when our 13yr old German shepherd I grew up with had to be put down. And then again this past week I had a scare with our current gsd, and it brought back bad memmories. The best advice has been said, when ever it gets to you... think about the good times. At least he lived a full life, and from the sounds of it a happy one. Im sure you will get another companion soon, when your ready to move on. Try to enjoy the time you have left.

I might wear his collar for a while instead of the choker I usually wear with my name on it or just put his dog tag on my collar next to the one that has my name:(

That sucks. I feel sad just reading that :( You should rescue a puppy from a shelter. Never the same... and remember, it's not to replace the other one, just to continue his legacy. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I can see how losing a dog, or any pet, hurts... it's just like losing a person, a person with no bad in them, just good... it stings... I can't imagine how I'll feel when my dog dies. I'm on vacation right now, he's staying with the trainer, and after reading this I wish he was at my side :(

This passage from a song always reminds me of my dog... I hope you can get some comfort out of it.

"I will provide for you
And I'll stand by your side
You'll need a good companion now for
This part of the ride
Leave behind your sorrows
Let this day be the last
Tomorrow there'll be sunshine
And all this darkness past"

I'm sorry about your doggie Rhen :( Hardest thing to do as a pet owner. Fix him his favorite meal in the morning and talk to him up until so he won't be afraid. It kinda helped me deal with my lab about that age who had cancer we had to put down last year. *hugs*
