What are you feeding the female mono? I bet your male is hitting everything that is considered food, but what is your female eating on?

they both eat the same, both on massivore and foodsticks havent had anything else in months, and in mentioning sex the female is actually a better eater then the male

Yes they are when they are about to spawn.

I'm going to feed my female Kelberis home grown feeders to spark the breeding. The girls just don't hammer food like I want them to. The males eat anything, but my females will not indulge in food like the males. So....feeders it is.

Yeah i notice that the female eats alot more wen she is maybe a week or so out from laying must be to keep up the with the production of eggs etc, and interesting how yours behave like that. I just believe as long as they know or think that there is sufficient food for there spawn then they will do the deed, i also find that a WC triggers the female as i only did a 50% WC few days ago and the same was with the first spawn as soon as i see the male cleaning the dish i do the water changes to help replicate the rainy season i guess. Also the first spawn it was just the pair in the tank with nothing but dish n sponges/canister now i added some driftwood, a small pleco and a bit of moss and i was thinking maybe they would hesitate now with the change in scenery and another fish but nope they dont care lol

Also how big are your kelberis again?

Wow congrats
