Hi All,

I wanted to post a project that is well under way. I am self professed a lot of talk. I love to research projects to death.:nilly:

My project is to re-setup my first tank. A 20 gal tall. The project includes a base, and hood. Tank will have a powerhead with sponge filter, and a DIY cold cathode lighting system (White/Blue)
All is being done with oak 1x4 & 1x6. It will be stained the same(ish) as the shelve it is sitting on.

Some pics....

Before shots in place.. Really dirty, been sitting for 2 yeas in he garage..

Now shots of the base being test fitted..

After thoughts.. Wish I had mitered the corners rather than a butt joints with dowels :wall:, but will see how it looks with the ebony stain. Sanded and filled it already looks better.

Updates Tommorrow want to start cutting my ply tank this weekend.

Tanks for the compliments

Stock is gonna be either guppies or Neon Tetras, Leaning to the tetras, and Ghost Shrimp.

Just a tank to make the wife happy so I can start my 250..... :)

I setup a 20H with some rams, cories, and am working on growing out some loaches. it's a planted tank, and it keeps the woman happy so I can work on the 75 how I see fit. I know where you're coming from!

Be glad you didn't bother, I did on the one I'm working on and it was such a PIA to get it halfway decent looking... But then, from the looks of it, you have much more advanced skills with wood than I do. The whole thing is looking really good!
