My monster LFS rescue (oscar warning)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good save. Looks good i like the albino ones. There are 3, 13 or so inch large o's at my local fish store people couldnt house any more. And a huge 16 or so in jag that the shop owner said they were all in a 55 gallon brought in by the same person. Dont get some people. I wish i had a tank for that jag at that shop would love to give it a good home. Im surprised you put the o in with your rtc sence it has hith. Any ways good save.

The HITH is not bad at all compared to my lfs...one oscars whole front part of his head was gone And the wound went in deep....clean water should heal that guy in no time!

Nice save, I recently rescued a nice male pink Convict from my LFS. His tank was in the early stages of ich. I'd see him before, nice nuchal hump and a lot of personality. I went back to that LFS recently and all his tank mates were in real bad shape or dead. Sad to see that happen in any species of fish :(

It wasn't the LFS's fault he has hith, it was the previous owners.

I know, I'm just saying that it's sad to see the fish that need good homes in LFS. Especially since I can't save them all. I just happened to have space for the pink Convict I saved.

I agree, the HITH dose not look beyond recovery. One other thing besides good water and nutrition that seams to have helped me rehabilitate O's is occasionally using a vitamin block in the tank or soaking food in a liquid fish vitamin.

I have a soft spot for the big abandoned O's at the LFS's and if I ever have a few thousand extra gallons I will probably end up rescuing all that I can.

Great job man, and he looks awesome considering his ordeal. This hobby needs more people like you!!!!
