I can't believe it,I think my 12" Midas, the trophy and most dominant fish in the tank is a FEMALE?! Please tell me I'm trippin and have no clue what I'm talking about.I've taken pride in this being my monster male this past 8 months, but when I raised the temp this weekend to 80,it got in breeding mode and I see freaking lady parts! Here's some pics, tell me I'm wrong...

Looks like he has a nuchal hump to me which would make him a Male. Thats a sweet tank man, whats the gallons and dimensions

My Flowerhorn has that same appendage (whatever it is). And if mine's a female I'll be more shocked than anyone. Hopefully we'll get someone in here who can tell us your Midas is a male and just has a really big...well you know....

Haha, that's what I've been telling myself!

I'm no midas expert, but I did just watch my Trimac's spawn (fry just went free swimming today) and since midas/trimac's are both in the same family I dont see why they would differ that much. I would vote male simply b/c it looks just like my male trimac's junk, the girly bits are quite a bit larger and more pronounced. Either way, great looking fish man!

Can't tell for sure. Take it out and vent it. Sombody else on here a couple of months ago had a big "male" like yours that laid eggs one day! Friggin cross dresser:ROFL:!

Yeah, no, its a female. Sorry bro. Find her an even bigger male, you could get some genetically perfect babies.
