I was looking at that picture again and that sure looks like a tube starting to drop. The up side is if you could breed her to a big hump headed male you would have some awsome fish. Regardless that is one great looking fish. But I do think it's a girl now.

Thats a male, too many think male's tubes don't drop either but they do. If that was a female it would be alot thicker, not to mention they point straight down Vs a males tube that points slightly back. That tube is narrow at the tip and points slightly back. It's a male.
Nothing from the first set of pics would convince me the fish is a female. It looks like a male to me.
I hope you guys are right,it's piece is getting longer so we'll get a positive ID soon enough...

Large males I seen always have their junk exposed.
It's the females that hide their macaroni noodle until gravid.
I'd expect you to have seen plenty of eggs before reaching this size though.
