Thanks for the condolences guys , 4 1/2 year bout with cancer and now he's in a better place , again thankyou very much . I usally feed them every other day and sometimes every 3rd day depending on how quick and how much they consume the previous feeding . There staple if i had to say is fresh smelt mixed with shrimp, chicken, beef, pork, crayfish, krill, ( depending on what were having for dinner haha ! ). As far as your question Jay88 they are shy and skiddish to a degree with alot of varieables , tank size, number of fish, health and welfare, personality of fish, iv'e had them watch and follow me like a hawk not affraid at all and on the flip side iv'e had them knock themselves for a loop running into the glass freaking out. These guys need a bigger tank you just have to move slow and let them calmly adjust to your movement , they know who i am though and when there going to eat ,they dont hesitate to come to the top to get to the food first before the next one gets it . Thanks again for the condolences , God Bless
