My MONSTER pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
don't keep these types of fish but they are cool for sure!
awesome job man! definitely an idea for later on :)
i know peanuts about these kind of fish - i guess first things first; where do you get them?
They can handle pretty wide range of temperature. Vendor Rarefish aka Fugupuff has them occasionally.

They've been in the pond for a couple of days and they're eating algae like crazy. Check out the chunks of wall algae missing.
Notice the one blue Neolissocheilus. I think it was a major score because they were all purchased as copper. Don't tell Wes...haha
My growouts are schooling down low. Give it a few weeks and they'll be on top with the other boyz. Colors on their fins are starting to pop.
Thanks for viewing.
Oops! I think you just told him! He's going to make you pay for it next time :grinno: Keep us update! Nice group.

I didn't realize you west coast guys had to deal with unpleasantries like cold weather :p

Hahaha....we have it all right here in CA. Im at just over 6200ft elevation.....it snows and drops below 0 occasionally in the winter. Summers are an average 70-80. Sometimes cooler, sometimes a little warmer.

Ken the pond looks stunning! I love it.

hi i'm from india. u have lovely pond. when i saw ur post i thought of the old adage "the grass is greener on the other side".
here i'm struggling to get a alligator gar and after searching for more than a year, i got it from chennai nearly 400km away.
and here u are getting mahseer from india. you can also stock rohu[Labeo rohita] and bighead carp[ "Hypophthalmichthys nobilis"]
both will look good. these fishes including mahseer eat vegetarian food. here we grow them as food fish. they are given paddy husk along with peanut oil cakes commercially.
they will also eat over ripe fruits like papaya and water melon. keep up the good work

Wow...thanks for the great advice.
You are so right about people taking things for granted! Do mahseers taste good? Wait, don't tell me.
