Ya I figured i would have a car by now as well, but there are cost that i didn't know about in living here.
I get 1400 USD a month, that is 80,000 pesos.
15000 rent
7000 electric and water
4500 renew my tourist visa
22000 groceries, hygiene/cleaning
500 for drinking water
1500 internet
1700 payment on cloths washer
5000 on my cigarettes
10000 on private school
2500 payment on my phone
2500 to get my money from atm
5000 for a couple nights of food delivery
Leaves about 5000 for transportation, not enough to make a payment on a used car. To get a decent used car i need 2 to 300k as a down. Then payments of like 10k a month. Kid only has about 5 more months of school then I can save up those funds for a car.

This video go along with the one earlier. What the inside of the grocery store looks like.

And just for general information it's 56 to 59 pesos to one US dollar. If your trying to figure out the cost of things you see in the video.

I figured you’d be a resident by now.

So you’re still in that cycle of visas ….
Yup, agian it goes back to not being able to save any money. It's about 50k pesos for a simple wedding here. So when kid is done with school, first I'll save up for the wedding. Then we will save for house.
They have what they call assume houses here. It's a house someone has paid on for an amout of time. But for whatever reason can't finish paying. Bank takes the house back then sells it to another person for just what is owed on the original contract. Sonif you h7nt around enough you could find one wirh like only a year or two of payments left, then its yours. Adtee the wedding this is what ill do.
Now Cristine could go back to work and help financially, but the pay here is so ridiculously low. 9 hours a day six days a week for a year 15k pesos a month. All wages are set by the government. Stating doctor only gets 50k, police 35k. I just don't see that's its worth her time to work for such a small amount of pesos.
