My Much Delayed 125 Project

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I really don't think you'll have any trouble with two guys. My dad and I were able to lift my 220 with just the two of us, and it's made of thicker glass than most and weighs 550lbs easy. Granted, we did use four guys to actually move it around, but the two of us lifted it up to see if we could. It's a 30" tall tank vs the 125's 24", so yours should easily be under half the weight. I'm guessing between 200 and 225lbs, but that's just my guess.

Two guys can definitely handle a 125. Since there is only myself (wife recovering from back surgery) I hired a couple guys (Two Men and a Truck) to get it onto the stand. I also had them move a few other things as well, sine they have a one hour minimum charge. While not cheap, they are less expensive than my Dr's. minimum for an office call.

A dolly is also a great investment. Buy one for the aquarium move and you'll find yourself using it for other stuff around the house.

A friend of mine bought a 125 and we were both able to comfortably lift it and we are smaller guys. They weigh about 160-180 according to internet sources.
