My Native Tanks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
very nice. it makes me question my plans for a bass tank after my sunny run. which fish did the cluster thing in the beginning, are those the dace?

Here's the latest video on the sunfish tank. I added an actinic bulb to the lights to highlight the blue on the sunfish. I also added another sponge filter to help beef up the filtration. Hope you like it.

Looks cool. I have one of the actinic sand one fluorescent normal bulb in my 90 g african cichlid soon to be sunfish tank.
Also, what is your take on the personality of the individual sunfish? I know i want a rock bass and probably a few chubs, but what other types would be good for that kind of tank? Also which ones are most interactive

Looks pretty good but a little too blue for my tastes. Maybe try a 50/50 bulb? Better yet, RGB LED's!

It is really blue but I really like how it makes their markings pop. I may try a 50/50 bulb. As far as different types of sunfish, longears are the only ones I've kept for a considerable amount of time. I've kept a few green sunfish from but it never ended well with them.

Greens can be very aggressive, I tried to have two in a 38g bowfront with several different tank inhabitants and it never ended well.....I think they would have been fine in a 100g with structure and fast dithers. I love the colors on O'spots, Longears, Redbreast and Dollar sunfish. I love your video and the fish, just awesome!

1 green plus some other types possibly but I wouldn't put more than one together in a tank. I have a video on my channel from when I tried to put a couple greens together in my tank. The title is definite signs of aggression if that gives away the point I'm trying to make.
