i had one a few years back... he was so beautiful, he was old though and going through a molt killed him.. yours is beautiful..so blue..

Whenever mine was getting ready to molt he would grab all the algae wafers and pellets he could and hide them in his ship. Then he would cover the exits with a wall of gravel and stay there till he was all done. They need a safe place for this cause their so vulnerable at this time. I found it weird though when I found his claws molted too. I went to show him off one day after he had been out and about so it was safe, lifted up the ship and found the claws, I thought when I had picked up the ship I ripped it off.
