So here it is....im at college right now, and living in the dorms. I wanted to bring my fish with me so i bought a 28 gallon tank and put my 2 needlenose gars in it.....they have been in there for about a month, and just recently they killed my pleco. Turns out it was good reason because i just turned on the light, and saw somewhere in the range of 20-30 baby gars. I can see that not all the eggs have hatched. I know there is very little known about this but what can i feed them? I know they are little canibals. If you guys want pictures, i can try to take some with my phone but i dont have a digital camera right now. i might buy one just so i can show you all this.

wow i didnt even know you could spawn gars in a 28 gallon tank oh btw are you talking about the real needlenose gars or the needlenose fish that looks like a gar??? but try to get them on frozen foods.

W E NEED PICS!!

pics pics pics!!!

is it a needlefish?
def. not a gar if they breed in that size tank.

youre right they are a needlefish....i got them ant fish unlimited in green bay. they call them an asian gar. how do i feel them frozen food, they are literall as long as a key on your key board, and thinner than pencil lead. i will have pictures up by the end of the night.

they probly won't eat frozen foods try live shrimp like brine shrimp or mabye live blood worms but other then that if you can get guppy fry try them but they really need a bigger tank how big are they

they do not need a bigger tank! at least not for a long time.

as far as food...maybe bloodworms or brine shrimp. i have never heard of them being breed in home aquaria. this is really cool, but i dont really know what you should feed them.

these 2 needlenose fish are not the two i originally got this summer, those are at home. these are fish i have gotten from my brother. they are about 6 inches long, and have been that size for nearly a year. where would i go about getting brine shrimp fry?

There are a few in the top of this picture. they are the small black lines. again this is with my phone, so the pictures arent the best and these fish are tiny right now.
