Your tank looks good with a nice selection of fish, but I would get a huge piece of driftwood , use it as a centerpiece, and then aquascape around that. I would also fill up the tank all the way so you can't see the glare of the lights from your bed. See how the back ground looks AFTER you've finished decorating the tank.
lose the background get a black one... imo it would lok better and it would show your fishes colour better..... then you should go and find yourself a bil ol stump like i did!
I think your tank looks great!!!!! It's a perfect Oscar tank if the O is still in there. Do you have any aggression in this tank? If not then I'd leave it alone. It looks good and the fish have plenty of room to swim!!!!!
Thanks for all the nice comments and ideas, I already have 3x yellow hooks in there but I guess I could add some SD's unfortunately Giant danios didn't work for me although they were probably not full size, the O and Jag ate them! and The Oscar is still there and you wouldn't believe the difference the larger tank has made to him coming from a 63g, there is a bit of aggression between the Tex and GT and then some 3 way aggression between the Sev, O and Jag but nothing serious just some nipped fins.
I like the idea of pond plants and mybe a big root, need to get use of the top 1/3 of the tank!
I was contemplating a Silver/Black Aro but have decided to wait and get an Asian some time next year when a bonus comes through.
the tank looks good. its just if u through a little bit taller decor in there they will use up more of the tank like i got some clumps of java moss and such in my tank it looks good but the fish have lots of sight breakage going on so there is little aggresion i got a 5" O (bout to get rid of) and 2 3-4" jag's (pair) and a 3-4" beautiful female crenicichla sveni and maybe still a red tailed sand loach? reason i say ? is because the pike cichlid recently moved into the loach's cave
Take a look at others tanks. choose one you like and write down on a peice of paper what items they incorperated into their tank (ie. Black background, a couple 3' branches, some large rock, and some palm sized riverstone) Then just find those items and arrange them in a pleasing manner. Post an update if you make a change.
I agree with above but you really need a big clump of driftwood in there to create different layers. Then some plants like anubias and java fern attached to the bogwood. Mabye some really big sturdy Amazon Swords and a slight background of giant vallis. I'd go for a dark blue (navy) background?
Good suggestions, I am defiantly going to go for a large piece of bogwood it's just a case of finding some now, I need something about 5ft long and I can't find it anywhere, any one in UK suggest where?
