Every once in a while I check MFK for Diy Tank builds, I have read your entire 1500 gallon build. I read that build for about an hour a day, I read it in two days. I just want to say, that tank was awesome, and was one of the sources that helped me get info to build my 450 gallon tank. Anyway, we are moving, and that aquarium won't fit out the doors, so I decided I was going to build another aquarium to replace it, bigger obviously. I drew up plans and calculated the cost and supplies needed. I then remembered to look on here to motivate me to make sure to build it. The funny thing is, I just found this thread, and the aquarium you are building now, and the aquarium I have planned out, are very similar sizes. I have a square room in the house we are going to move into, and its not long enough in length to put a big aquarium, so I am making it in a U shape with three 8' x 3' viewing windows. Before I ever looked at this thread, I calculated it out to be 2,755 Gallons. I hope to start work late fall, early winter, whenever I prep the room. But I just wanted to say, your original 1500 gallon build is what got me into making aquariums! I hope you get your leaks figured out, and I hope you don't mind me messaging you on tips when I start my build. Thanks! and keep it up!

Found a few small areas that were questionable so I sanded down the area for the new coat of pond armor will stick. Will continue going over the entire tank again 1 Sq/Ft at a time until completed, then re-coat the areas that are suspicious and shoot for another fill test before Friday.
Not going to lie costs on this are through the roof. Not sure I want to share them yet.. lol
I can tell you though that just the tank alone (Wood, pond armor, windows, screws.. etc..) is still under $1.75 a gallon
Filtration & lighting on this tank are high end and killed my budget for sure. I would still do it the same way for sure. So, I am not second guessing my decisions at all. Just a bit more in the end than I had expected.
Still working on the leaks and hope to have then all identified and fixed before the weekend.

So I had a small problem getting in touch with anyone at Pond Armor.
Waiting for an extra quart to patch the leaks and it's been 2 weeks and still no shipment.
Numerous emails, several voice mails, no one answers the phone there.
Luckily the local placed I used on the last tank was able to order me a quart from their distrubitor in MI and I should have it tomorrow.
That means I can leak test on Friday night.
