my new 270

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Much luck with the patch. I'd replace the whole panel but that's just me. Looks scary. I do like the titan stand. That thing looks balls to the wall sturdy.

yeah and it cost me $60 lol .... all i had to pay for is the orange beams!

Wow, nice PU on that! Maybe get a bigger tank for it later on. It's a crime to see all that wasted table space around the edges of the current tank :naughty:

great find and adorable kids

I can understand being low on funds to replace glass but I would highly suggest it. Regardless of how much it cost, it would still be WAY cheaper than a busted tank once full of fish. And all that water everwhere, not to mention the safety aspect of it.

lol you bought it cracked brand new?
nice pick up.
those kids are gonna be swimming with the fishes.

then they should pay to have it replaced..

awesome tank, but I too would be very leary of a patch. and the patch does nothing to refinforce the compromised glass strength in that area. the crack could spread, possibly catastrophically in an instant, causing a massive break and huge flood..

you are putting almost 3000 pounds of water/substrate etc in that tank.

look at it this way:

what is better:

a) waiting until you have the funds to replace the panels

or

b) patching it, having the tank break, and having 270 gallons of water in your house (costing a fortune in repair/clean up /replacing stuff)

don't risk it.

do it properly (replace the affected panels) or don't do it.

it never pays to rush when you are dealing with massive tanks..
