That sux. Look into the new tall or show tanks. The new 10 gallons are, I believe, the same foot print of a 5.5 but way taller.

Many fish do not have an accelerated growth rate. Convicts are one of them. You should not expect to see them change overnight. It takes a long time, expecially in smaller tanks. In my 135 my con went from 2-4" in 3 months. In a 20 or less I would not expect to see much change over a 3 month period. good luck i've had my cons for about a month now and they havent gotten any bigger. they are at 1" and started off in a 20gallon and dident spawn so i moved them.
