Yup thats a fire fish...a nice one too! They have many common names (fire fish, strawberry, dragons blood)...I don't know how to tell if they're male or female though

Yours looks much cooler than mine, mine has a lot of orange...

nice fish. But mine got a white face. How do I breed them?

They do have 3 types, fire fish which i think you have (white face, white body w/ color), dragon blood (orange all over including the head) and the strawberry peacock (all pink/redish). The cool thing about these fish is the females can be almost as pretty as the males which isnt common in African's. I think you paid a good price for that fish. My gut is telling me you have a nice looking female. It looks like she is semi filled with eggs which i often look for. You can try "venting" which you would have to look up. She will breed with any african cichlid because she is a hybrid, but would suggest getting another fish like that one. If the tank conditions are right and they have a spot to swim in circles, you will have babies.

Now I know she filled with eggs. I thought it was male. But yes her stomach is big and she ate on purchase day. I did not know females look like this.

Yeah Im gonna go look for a male. Is it worth the time to breed them? will anyone want them? Thank you for your help input
