Polypterus addiction is a serious problem... and senegals are the gateway polypterus! Next thing you know you'll be forking out fifty bucks for an ornate!
I think they act like a dog with a new toy when they eat! its fun to watch them snag a goldfish...poor little goldfish....could have got swallowed whole by the arowana....but the bichirs chew and shred.. my frontosa love to eat the scraps flying everwhere... HAVE FUN!

That is absolutely right ..they remind me of a dog with a new toy.. and i think your right that they are addicting.. so happy i have him.. and i am having fun ..thank you..

I did not think i could be this upset over my bichir but i am .. i know i will get over it but i feel so angry and sad.. i found the little guy in the top of the ship that i have as a hide out for my frontosa.. he was way at the top inside.. i had to turn and toss it to get him out of there..Once i had him out i examined him and found a tear on his stomach..at first i thought it could be the frontosa's but now i m thinking the damn ship was rough in the very top.. not smooth like it should be.. and he probably tore some skin on the roughness.. what do you think? I do not know at this point whether i will get another one but if i did i certainly wouldn't want this to occur again if it were the ship.. and if it were the fronts then another certainly would not be a good idea for that tank. He ate so good last night..and even though i had him such a short time i really enjoyed the little guy..

So you lost the little guy? Nightmare. That's why I don't use anything but NATURAL ornamentation in my tanks.....Rocks, wood, gravel, plants, shells....that's it.
Hate losin a fish to somethin like that...
By the way, been meaning to ask, is your avatar your reality or your fantasy..?!

Yes really hate learning the hard way... for the fronts it is fine but for the bichir definitly not again.. infact i am putting the soon to be new one in his own tank next time with just about nothing.. the red devil avatar is a mixture of both.. but i change often.. and really just wanted to let every one know i was a female, and it was good for holloween...thanks for replying.
