I picked three 3-4 inch gulpers from Jeff Rapps. They were swimming periodically in the tank the first day. I thought one would not make it but it did!!! My gulpers are swimming all over the tank day and night. Jeff sent me an email regarding the other 3-4 inch gulpers he had.
He said, " I am angry with one of the remaining little gulpers here. Seems that it's big mouth and expandable belly got it in big trouble.
I HAD two of the rare Chinese perches, Siniperca loona, in same tank with gulpers.
The perch(es) are actually LARGER than the cats. I found one the cats upside down breathing heavily with it's belly blown up to a larger size than the rest of the actual fish. I still cannot believe it swallowed that whole fish!
48 hours later that fish is still laying upside down digesting that meal."
I guess because my fish are so young, they look like all mouth. Here are the pics and videos:
