My new aquascape. Opinions?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks, I love the shape! Cleaning the back half of the tank is a P.I.T.A. though. I have to get out my stool and stretch!

i do think it looks better than your before photo,i think the idea of floating plants, attached to the wood could work well,i never tried that.you have no background? i would try a black back

Thanks guys :D

The only problem I forsee with plants attached to the wood is that the SD's will devour them... Worth a try though!

The tank has a black background. With a black acrylic central overflow box. The pics dont really show it because of how cloudy it is. I will be sure to update when the dust settles.

:D

I just tried to get a few pics of the inhabitants. Poor quality phone pictures, I apologise.

I've never had to deal with overflow boxes before but I've seen others use mesh netting or even something like gutter guard to keep things from being sucked into them. I would steer clear of duckweed-like plants as I CAN foresee that causing a problem clogging your overflow very easily; regardless of if you were to rig up some kind of guard. You could also try tying the plants (something like Hornwort) to the pieces of driftwood via fishing line. As for your Silver Dollars, if they haven't bothered your current plants I think that any new plants you were to add would be alright. Feeding them a spilurina/veggie based flake food on a regular basis may also help deter them from picking at your plants.

As of right now I am getting Gold Saum for my tank, but I really do like the looks of the Stalsbergi!
