These guys are settled into their own 120. so far they seem to be great, if a little lonely. I plan on getting some more fish soon but these guys weren't exactly cheap and besides the Burmese archers for 130 dollars these were the only 2 archers in the store. they are "Golden Archer" whatever that is. Obviously some LFS naming bull**** to make them sell, but I would be intersted in knowing what species they are. they are both eating and behaving normally

Toxotes jaculatrix, just the common archer. They look like really nice ones though, good yellow on them.

Yeah I assume thats why they were sold as golden, because they have a very strong yellow colouration on the tail. either way they are beautiful and a very good buy in my opinion :)

Just got another one today, I think its a differen't species, what do you think?

your originals might be microlepsis but most likely jacul, these two look very similar. If the band goes all the way through the body onto the dorsal fin then its jaculatrix, if the band has a break, then reappears on dorsal fin its microlepsis. You can really only tell when they flare their fin up, good luck.

Thanks Jonny, I really need some tank mates for them, they share a 120g with a small violet goby
