Must be something in your tank scaring them. The 5 I just picked up are no more than 1.5" long and are off being mini terrors in the tank. They aren't shy when they are off trying to steal food from the other fish. Mine are eating pieces of freezed dried krill.

Yep mines like that but just a bit bolder. He comes out toward me, then just when I want to press the camera button he turns tail and bails!
