my gator was about 22 inches at a yr and a month or two. from all the reading that ive done it sounds like after the first yr (when they grow like 20-24 inches) they only grow about a 1/2 inch a yr.

more of like 18" per first growth season, for the sake of avoiding a large portion of the thread getting derailed, let's stick with what's been said about first year growth spurt so far. gator gars can grow faster than 1/2" per month in their second growth period too i believe. (i'm assuming there's a typo and you meant 1/2 inch per month and not 1/2 inch per yr cause the latter is ridiculous). nice gator gar eitherways, hope your pond is already built, or at least in the process of being built
